Chess

 

I'm a sucker for a good game of chess. I wouldn't say I'm a good chess player. Sometimes I'm lucky, at best. BUT I love a chess set that feels good while I play. This set feels wonderful in my hands. And whether I'm winning or losing doesn't matter as much as the playing.

 

My husband made the table and chairs from old wood that he retrieved from PA barns that were either slated to come down or were well on their way. I painted the furniture in a way that I considered matching to the style of the pieces. And I fashioned the pieces from dreams of yore.
